Safety in rope access and facade renovation
Safety doesn't depend only on the harness or on a photo of someone hanging from a rope. Working at height requires assessing risks, choosing the right equipment, planning access, protecting third parties and having the right measures and people in place for foreseeable contingencies.
Rope, scaffolding or platform
According to INSST guidance on rope access work and Royal Decree 1215/1997 as amended by 2177/2004, rope access techniques have specific conditions of use. Choosing them requires assessing whether the work can be carried out safely and considering other access equipment.
What a responsible job involves
We look at the stability of the substrate, anchors, the area where objects could fall, interference with installations, weather, use of PPE and the emergency and rescue protocol. The method must suit the task: inspecting a joint is not the same as rebuilding a large area of concrete.

Documentation and coordination
Before starting, the obligations for coordination between companies, authorisations and applicable health and safety documents must be clarified. This information does not replace a risk assessment, a safety plan where required or professional advice.
